Vietnamese identity is demonstrated in the architectural language of Vietnamese modernist architecture, a mid-century modernism that is remarkable for its climate mitigation and vernacular specificities. Significantly, modernism was integrated into the Vietnamese culture based upon Vietnamese traditional architecture, and therefore bears a very strong poetic spirit in architecture. This makes Vietnamese modernist architecture not only an invaluable modernist heritage, but also an important creative period in Vietnamese cultural lifeblood.
